How much can I borrow?
Assumes 8.5% p.a. over 20 years for home loan
How this is calculated
Lenders in India typically cap your total EMIs (existing + new) at 45–50% of net monthly income (the Fixed Obligation to Income Ratio, or FOIR), and separately cap the loan amount itself as a multiple of your monthly income. Banks approve whichever of the two gives the lower amount. This is a planning estimate — actual approved amounts depend on your credit score, employer category, and the specific lender's policy.

Frequently asked questions
How much home loan can a salaried employee get?
Lenders typically cap total EMIs at 50% of net monthly income for salaried applicants, and separately cap the loan amount at roughly 54-60 times monthly income — approving whichever is lower. Salaried applicants at stable employers generally get faster approvals than self-employed applicants at the same income level.
What documents does a salaried applicant need for a home loan?
Typically the last 3 months' salary slips, Form 16 or ITR for the last 2 years, the last 6 months' bank statements, and standard KYC and property documents (sale agreement, title deed, NOC).
